hodge podge

So this blog is called Sasquatch Adventures for a reason. At the end of sixth grade I was 6'3 and couldn't even walk in a straight line. That whole phase in elementary when all the girls were taller than the boys never happened to me- I was always the tallest in my classes. Even in high school I was one of the tallest in my 4A high school- of course that wasn't hard going to a school in South Texas with 1/3 hispanic and 1/3 asian students! Well now that I have grown a whole whopping inch and 150 lb. since middle school I think I have fully embraced my sasquatch status. Poor Emily- she is doomed to follow in my size 14 footsteps...

If that weren't bad enough she is going to have to put up with a crazy dad who will 1) embarass her any chance he gets, 2) be WAY overprotective, 3) expect her to be tough on all men. That last one should not be a problem, check out that dude right behind her right fist... he's like 'aaaaaaaawwwww snaaaaap'... (is that lingo still hip?- who cares that is exactly the kind of things I will say when Emily's friends are around!)
Not to close out with too much of a downer- keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I have now gone three days without holding my baby girl and kissing my beautiful wife. If Emily were a little older we wouldn't be so paranoid, but the flu bug is serious this year and I don't want to expose either one of them to it. I am pretty bummed about not getting to burp her (Em- not Les), kiss her little face, and sing our little silly songs, and yes- even help with changing diapers. She has already become such a huge part of our lives and being in the next room, hearing her cry, and not being able to do anything about it is pretty tough. Thank God Lesley has already acheived the rank of supermom and has everything to provide for Em. In addition, we are blessed with friends and family to pick up the slack and grateful to God for our little bundle of joy. But still I miss this...

  1. Chad, your pictures are hilarious! I know it must be absolutely painful right now for you to not get your girls in your arms. Praying for a quick recovery!
