Emily Rodeo

So I have been trapped in the guest bedroom for a couple days now and trying not to get too bummed everytime I hear my baby calling for her daddy- or is that just a poopy diaper...

But I have had the company of our faithfull dogs Macie and Charlie. Charlie is an older gentleman (14) but still spry and quite lively. Macie is 3 and is a bit of a handful at times. It is funny how they were such a big part of our lives- which they still are, but now as everyone says 'they are just the dogs' which is true. Here is a pic of Macie.

So at one point I have spent all my time with Macie- Three summers of her taking afternoon naps on my belly and us rolling on the floor playing with a slobbery toy. You might say that every morning when the sun peered out I would think of her...

but now it is all about Emily. Many people worry about bringing home a baby to a household with dogs. I was never worried. We did pay big money to have Macie work with a dog trainer- which helped- but even without I think she would have been fine. The other day I came home and found this romping all over the living room...

now first off... I can't believe Lesley could even find a saddle to fit a little dog, let alone pink chaps in infant size. It was such a blast though. We set up little barrels next to the piano and the china hutch and Em would start in the kitchen- Macie blazing forth in all her glory as we just sat there awe struck. Last time I checked three week olds weren't even supposed to be able to roll over on their own, let alone ride a galloping doggie! Wow she is amazing, just like her mom...

  1. You're hilarious. Thanks for letting me stalk your blog. It's your pal Ginny from 2B1...you can stalk me back if you wish. Congrats to you and Lesley! We miss y'all and the class! Atlanta is treating us well, but we actually developed some appreciation for Texas while we were there! Keep writing!
