Some work some don't

As I have been transformed from super-husband to papa-razzi (get it!)- I have discovered that some poses and ideas work and some don't. I already have countless examples but have chosen just a few of the hundreds of pics we have taken. Take for example this recent pic...This picture is a winner on many levels. Cute baby- check, Loving mom and Aunt-Check, pose that works-check. Below is an example that does not quite have the same pizazz.First off, who is the creepy dude in the back holding up the backdrop (oh wait that's me). Yes- she can hold the balloons on her own, but she is blocking her face tisk tisk tisk. I also learned from Tyra that to accentuate or hide certain features you present them to the camera in different ways. I don't know if we want Emily's feet to look like 'banana boats in mary janes'- but the angle of the pic isn't ideal.

Example 3...
This one for me is right in the middle- probably leaning towards the good side. The only knock is that Emily's head is angled so we are showing off her double chins and she has the same expression she has when she is pinching a loaf in her pampers. //OH MY GOSH- as I was typing this Les was changing Em's diaper and she had a poop explosion that got on a whole pile of clothes! Back to the post// The cute-over sized sweater works. For all you fashionistas out there- she is wearing a white cotton, back-less dress with plunging neckline that accentuates her baby soft skin. This fun and flirty look is perfect for long stroller rides in the country or just hanging out with the folks...from designer Gymboree.
Then there is my final example...
All the elements were there- musical parents, musical baby. Get a happy pic of our pride and joy happily tickling the ivories. Instead we were given the scream of death one pissed off baby (you can't see her flipping us off underneath the mittens). We WILL get a good piano picture one day. Lesley's said that she will take dance lessons and my thing is that she will take piano lessons- so we may just need a few more tries to get this one just right.

  1. Taking a million pictures is the best! Thank you for your commentary! I agree...top one is the best. I thought maybe the last one was while you were singing to Emily...guess not! :) She is already a fashionista, and will be breaking hearts in no time flat! Keep the pics coming (good or not!). Take care, and enjoy your long weekend with the girls! :)
