She arrived 8/18/09 at 5:30pm. A day that changed Lesley and my life forever! She was born 20.5 inches, and weighed in at 8 lbs, 5.5 ounces- we just tell everyone 8-6. She is by far the cutest baby in the nursery and also the biggest. One thing I love about her is that she has huge hands and feet- definitely a mini-sasquatch in the making. I think she could get to 5-11 or maybe even 6 foot. My heighth combined with Les' looks- I already put bars on her window and bought a shot gun. No boys allowed... especially any of those 'Richard's boys'...
All joking aside, my two personal goals were met Tuesday- a safe wife and a healthy baby. Lesley is amazing, as anyone who knows her already knows. She smiled through the whole ordeal and all the staff LOVE her. Emily is so much more than I could have ever hoped for and her newborn face is permanently ingrained in my mind for all time. Now that I am a dad I can let my inner-dork shine. With my two gals I have my 'Peter Pan happy thoughts', my 'Harry Potter patronum', and every other cliche I could ever need.
Emily is amazing and I can't wait to protect her and love her. You can be sure that Lesley and I will do everything in our power to smother her with kisses and watch over her with every ounce of love in our combined twelve feet one and a half inches, three hundred and thirty one pounds of parenting force. (Shaq aint got nothing on us...)
