Besides all the concerts they go to they also have a bunch of musical toys, some real instruments to play on, and a bunch of musical books or books about music. This one is a fun one from their aunt Rachel we just got...<div><br></div><div>To take full advantage you have to really get into the sounds!<br><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyWIFjL37g6t3W50Fk3UGvXa_mU_9UVDs6YrpF7jUapRY1BakHhm-hzX-0H6e9zW3HZgEwfe9unLMYaVXL6F6-gXv1p8tvVhn2IucJt1wzgRxZV6PLHmA481LertipLXDZalWtzfdrZZA/s640/blogger-image--284384413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyWIFjL37g6t3W50Fk3UGvXa_mU_9UVDs6YrpF7jUapRY1BakHhm-hzX-0H6e9zW3HZgEwfe9unLMYaVXL6F6-gXv1p8tvVhn2IucJt1wzgRxZV6PLHmA481LertipLXDZalWtzfdrZZA/s640/blogger-image--284384413.jpg"></a></div></div></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-87242453112741128752013-05-06T23:03:00.000-07:002013-05-06T23:12:55.162-07:00BOO!What what! It has been a while since I posted. Still not sure if I am going to ever get back on the wagon, but this year I have been keeping a fairly (4-5 times a week) journal so maybe this will get added back in!<br>
<br>
The girls have been growing like weeds and there is nothing better than to come home and see their happy faces! We spent all evening outside playing. I am actually motivated to keep the grass taken care of these days!<br>
<br>
We had our Blue Bonnet pictures taken by Aunt Rachel the other week. You never know what you are going to get, but when you have two beauties even the 'ehh' ones are awesome!<br>

Lesley and I are blessed beyond measure...Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-79586821664269497482011-12-17T15:16:00.003-08:002011-12-17T15:16:34.526-08:00Diapers an spit up and poop, oh mySo today was the first time I really got frustrated with Harper. So I am supposed to be a pro at this baby stuff. I did the diaper underneath and everything and have all the supplies going. In the middle of changing Harper she spits up (no biggie since I am prepare for this). <br />
<br />
However, as I get back to her diaper I notice her socks are wet. So I take them off and notice her diaper is wet- on the outside. HOW ON EARTH DID SHE PEE AND NOT GET ANY INSIDE THE DIAPER? Before I could check for a pee hole on her back Lesley noticed I was having trouble and took over since of course precious Emily was hollering in her bedroom that she was awake fringed nap. Good times!<br />
<br />
I sure do love those chicks, even when they are a pee/poop machine. Ps: EVERY time I say pee pee Emily has to correct me since apparently the correct term is tee tee. Thanks mama!Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-59543031445266748172011-12-17T15:16:00.001-08:002011-12-17T15:16:24.597-08:00My mom the graduateThis weekend my mom graduated from Texas State University! One day we will look back and say 'WOW... we must have been really busy parenting during those months'<br />
One day Lesley will begin to post on here too.<br />
<br />
One day Emily will go from our little to girl to our little lady to our little teenager to our little woman to our little college student to our little 'Now presenting Mr. and Mrs *not Wood*'.<br />
<br />
But for now Dada had fun with our little girl Em! She has these AWESOME and incredibly ANNOYING squeaky shoes- but they are still new to us, so they are fun! <br />
<br />
She also LOVES scaring me when I come home. Instead of greeting me with a run, hug, and 'DADA!' all I get is a quick peek, a 'boo' and she is off playing again. (thanks mama).<br />
<br />
I think Les is just getting back at me since I taught Emily to answer 'What does Mama say?' with 'STOP' as she holds her hand up. AWESOME!Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-4498738416386806592010-06-21T20:14:00.000-07:002010-06-21T20:15:53.377-07:00TOO MUCH!There has been too much fun to keep up with the blog! In a nut shell here is some of the things we have been doing....<br />
1) Weekly visits to the park (most of the pics are on my facebook) so far we have visited 4!<br />
2) Had an AWESOME fathers day! (in case you are curious- that is Carlton from fresh prince of Bel Aire on my t-shirt- Lesley HATES it!)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisfJjVCUHOxX80gSR6tdcXaYARE3uQQ_hK2o3uvSVzILnAhhQrmetSuJBKok6dnCLdGuHMfO1CkO5NlcXASuqV_61wKsDAYypaHETVDWHLzc49rREuFrkrekPBt6Vzn-odtRTtMkqSTjI/s1600/DSC01471.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisfJjVCUHOxX80gSR6tdcXaYARE3uQQ_hK2o3uvSVzILnAhhQrmetSuJBKok6dnCLdGuHMfO1CkO5NlcXASuqV_61wKsDAYypaHETVDWHLzc49rREuFrkrekPBt6Vzn-odtRTtMkqSTjI/s640/DSC01471.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>3) we went to the horse races- even Emily place a couple bets (under the table of course!)<br />

Emily has been swimming multiple times and we are gearing up for another park visit tonight! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">All fun aside, I am beginning to worry about our little girl. Emily likes to show a little skin. I think her bikini is her favorite swimsuit and last night I put her in long sleeve pajamas and she would not have it. If that weren't enough I told her that I was going to put this picture on Facebook and she quickly slid one cheek out the float so she could 'pose for the boys.'<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0g7CENmXcI1OepbQucjgjwdmM5SP1UnpGYp-l7dylD_RnAItvdD3CyJ5l3XX46RpwGYWc3sRXIiYZuWUn1nJYwOOiURxVl87_8L_mxZbySg8LzTRjkHrqG6IGxax7h3EPIqvMOiAUeD4/s1600/100_1991.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0g7CENmXcI1OepbQucjgjwdmM5SP1UnpGYp-l7dylD_RnAItvdD3CyJ5l3XX46RpwGYWc3sRXIiYZuWUn1nJYwOOiURxVl87_8L_mxZbySg8LzTRjkHrqG6IGxax7h3EPIqvMOiAUeD4/s640/100_1991.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-37884562489036719382010-06-11T19:00:00.000-07:002010-06-11T19:00:27.519-07:00Friday!So my day started with getting up EARLY to drop our friends Jess and John off at the airport. Since I have been getting up early this week I still woke up at 6:30. Besides having to get up early, today was a good day! Emily had fun with her momma while I worked, then got to go play with her friend Ally as we went to dinner with two couples from our Sunday school class.<br />
<br />
Next week should be even better as I will get to spend more time at home and we can start to fall into our summer schedule!Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-44165107813122918572010-06-09T19:24:00.000-07:002010-06-09T19:24:17.072-07:00Summer Day 3Pretty sure I need to stop listing the days. One day in the future I will come to the realization that the summer is ending, and it will be a sad, sad day!<br />
<br />
Still got up early to work today. But there was a brief break in the action for Babies and Books! This is a program ran through the Frisco library. Basically it was me in a room of women and babies singing songs about trains. Imagine if you will the high shrill chorus of 'Choo Choo' and 'Yea' and 'Waaaaaaa'. Now add to that my smooth silky bass line 'chugga chugga chugga chugga' and 'Woo Woo'. Ok- so the smooth silky bass might be a little stretch, but either way fun was had by all. Emily had a blast and we did too!<br />
While we did not take any photos of the event I do have a picture of Em reading that I dug up from the archive...<br />

After a brief return to work I got a call from a college buddy who needed some help moving and setting up some furniture. We worked until about 6:30. While it was not necessarily my idea of a fun summer day it is good being there for a friend- I know he would do the same for me...Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-74773857748997603382010-06-08T20:37:00.000-07:002010-06-08T20:37:21.014-07:00Summer Day 2<div style="text-align: left;">Ahhh Tuesday!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Today I worked from 7-12:30 (I am still going in to get stuff done) and came home to see my gals!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Today we swam- no pictures, but we went in the big pool with her floaty! And YES- Macie is still out in the pool more than Michael Phelps. Today I had to dump it. Our water-logged Boston couldn't control herself...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2KAVR0ICWaJuZ9CRFW0fwCrObqoZArQozoeNFfCrpaA8ULIiku-kWoyyDAoph6XEsK__U-NFj0n4B43ZKM6ExHjOgOzn06IQIOqunCP-GGpfWxAuAXBmEM2ULZw944POy7sdcDK-AMTE/s1600/DSC01303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2KAVR0ICWaJuZ9CRFW0fwCrObqoZArQozoeNFfCrpaA8ULIiku-kWoyyDAoph6XEsK__U-NFj0n4B43ZKM6ExHjOgOzn06IQIOqunCP-GGpfWxAuAXBmEM2ULZw944POy7sdcDK-AMTE/s320/DSC01303.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2KAVR0ICWaJuZ9CRFW0fwCrObqoZArQozoeNFfCrpaA8ULIiku-kWoyyDAoph6XEsK__U-NFj0n4B43ZKM6ExHjOgOzn06IQIOqunCP-GGpfWxAuAXBmEM2ULZw944POy7sdcDK-AMTE/s1600/DSC01303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a>Just look at her crazy eyes!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Our big adventure this summer is to get out and see some Frisco parks. We went to the first one today and it was AWESOME! Great weather, great picnic, good time to chill and relax with the fam! Today we went to Limestone Quarry Park on the opposite end of Frisco.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhage032bbPi0H4Vo4A0x8M_GX_0nFh_ODrRyVhj5LEVrjccaMVYNuRNJHTnRyG4f6osNOg00C4XMPGVAkTT3dVy_rimu_4TgFxRcGo8mv1lp0mye1VZno2jGiuVWWYaxMWAIUCEq2njbM/s1600/DSC01341.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhage032bbPi0H4Vo4A0x8M_GX_0nFh_ODrRyVhj5LEVrjccaMVYNuRNJHTnRyG4f6osNOg00C4XMPGVAkTT3dVy_rimu_4TgFxRcGo8mv1lp0mye1VZno2jGiuVWWYaxMWAIUCEq2njbM/s320/DSC01341.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It was a very nice park- although I think the landscapers just got lazy and didn't want to worry about all the exposed limestone. 'Hey... lets just call it Limestone Park!'... </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We had a picnic first and Emily noticed some ducks WAY off in the distance. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I guess that means it is time for me to blog a little more! Emily is still growing, still sweet, and gorgeous. We plan on swimming a lot this year and below is the tu-tu suit I found for her!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKtjNl45dRJWRfGwXxzLJ_YaOQaO2xEuZgo29CbiHBjEA-HGidy009c45COiPnS3ltrOAlDBw6YCLuMst8OzdBF6U9d6o9qvbSpxs9jrf2TIsoe2sfr5l3Tv30nsgSiGLh1rcR-NYu1JA/s1600/DSC01260.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKtjNl45dRJWRfGwXxzLJ_YaOQaO2xEuZgo29CbiHBjEA-HGidy009c45COiPnS3ltrOAlDBw6YCLuMst8OzdBF6U9d6o9qvbSpxs9jrf2TIsoe2sfr5l3Tv30nsgSiGLh1rcR-NYu1JA/s320/DSC01260.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We have a little pool for our little bikini babe. It is perfect baby size!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjmdjppRh0sLjsqHbjOTQHj3FgGvkthxnCZzalFGXrSY4nzvlSTaMGmKTp3p74509A3Zs3C2Nh7TPl2pPBbWfAHDH9nslqKgoz8JWFZsQq0FGQ3fPvCfwOI8ew_vPFfGAqJhoQ-LZv5nw/s1600/DSC01267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjmdjppRh0sLjsqHbjOTQHj3FgGvkthxnCZzalFGXrSY4nzvlSTaMGmKTp3p74509A3Zs3C2Nh7TPl2pPBbWfAHDH9nslqKgoz8JWFZsQq0FGQ3fPvCfwOI8ew_vPFfGAqJhoQ-LZv5nw/s320/DSC01267.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And of course we have to set up the doggie pool on the back patio. Macie has REALLY missed it since she has already gone swimming about six times. This is great except for two key points;</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">1) She will randomly go outside and hop in. For the next 20 minutes she will run full blast following the ring of the pool making the giant steps with her front paws. This creates a massive splash- which she tries to catch in her mouth. Long story short we now have a soaking wet smelly dog, who has gained 5 pounds of water in her belly. She SQUEEEEEEEZES through the doggie door (with her sides rubbing) and runs a muck.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">2) Potty trained dog + 5lbs. of water in the belly = pee spots. I don't care how potty trained you are. If you drink a gallon of water in one setting <u>you WILL wet yourself.</u> Don't ask me how I know that is true- just take it from me...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbMc8fGZ1UV2IFRi0P_LCzPU-ShTJRJdOm6pxplEJSMc69RFJhcp_bmHPWVUUvRJyt0X8k-vg9U_SSFBsJkK1srgb0EX9KmfLR8SD44GPLR6P16XD80s5M939VAj4PjiRrm4So7bllh0E/s1600/DSC01288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbMc8fGZ1UV2IFRi0P_LCzPU-ShTJRJdOm6pxplEJSMc69RFJhcp_bmHPWVUUvRJyt0X8k-vg9U_SSFBsJkK1srgb0EX9KmfLR8SD44GPLR6P16XD80s5M939VAj4PjiRrm4So7bllh0E/s320/DSC01288.JPG" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

It has been a busy couple of months.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">While I admit that Emily and Mom have been having most of the fun- we have had our moments...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">like that time we built the fort out of the couch. We flung dirty diapers at each other. I played the defensive strategy and waited for her supply to run out. After about 10 minutes of furious flinging she was finally void of ammo. Just as I came out from the 'Fort Love' (made from the love seat), it was too late... she was not really out! I got face full of fresh diaper- still warm. She won that round but she promised me a rematch. Below is her victory shot.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJLbSBDw1HAw__mZ4tSNOF4klWv22a7LUcFpP-kdLfriAD0KgMcdgoN13uYEDfBxm4WfSrshbfFAgwcN_0kGAOCu5WRpiyPp1ey7SO6X_I30Jjx4lE2X598hDkJ2Zr8fIUvj-M7b42B0/s1600/DSC00999.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixJLbSBDw1HAw__mZ4tSNOF4klWv22a7LUcFpP-kdLfriAD0KgMcdgoN13uYEDfBxm4WfSrshbfFAgwcN_0kGAOCu5WRpiyPp1ey7SO6X_I30Jjx4lE2X598hDkJ2Zr8fIUvj-M7b42B0/s320/DSC00999.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">She has been babbling much more. I just thought she was doing it naturally, but apparently has been doing some research...<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCfX9I9QtEC6zD1DCmUg4IvNsHM2g9L7BwZsfF5gRnAXMBAdU7XbkH-dM3xBjwYGeLqi4zF7MXhd1gfSIvE9zoMnpU4MvCloNB7fwpZKJtB3_7fqT9uwGWJSAI_mCr1dqu342PoTDG_BI/s1600/DSC00986.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCfX9I9QtEC6zD1DCmUg4IvNsHM2g9L7BwZsfF5gRnAXMBAdU7XbkH-dM3xBjwYGeLqi4zF7MXhd1gfSIvE9zoMnpU4MvCloNB7fwpZKJtB3_7fqT9uwGWJSAI_mCr1dqu342PoTDG_BI/s320/DSC00986.JPG" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Then there was our music night. She picked the theme so we were Hanna Montana and Billy Ray. Good times were had by all. Her rendition of 'Party in the U.S.A' brought a tear to my eye.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Busy two weeks. The good news is that I have only watched about 3 hours of tv in the last week couple weeks. The downside is that I have been missing Emily before she goes to bed. I know there are going to be times that I have late nights, but HOW MANY can I have in two weeks- goodness! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I was able to break away from school here and there to see her during the day. That being said, Emily and Les have been having a great time! Below is a picture from one of the play dates...</div><br />

<br />
1) That she has her own meaningful and personal relationship with her creator. (God not me...)<br />
2) That she know how much I love her.<br />
3) That she is happy<br />
4) That she loves music<br />
5) That she has a group of friends that accept her for who she is<br />
6) That she is every bit as sweet and kind and gentle and ....... as her mom<br />
7) That she finds the right Godly man to marry and support her for a lifetime<br />
8) That she gets a good education and gets to go to the college of her choice<br />
9) That she hears 'I love you' a minimum of 10 times a day for the rest of her existence<br />
10) That she will always be my little girl- even when she is a mom and grandma<br />
<br />
I don't think that is too much to ask!Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-48312338587730240312010-01-25T20:12:00.000-08:002010-01-25T20:12:41.793-08:00O so tired.There are some days that never end. Some days just drag forever and then I come home and work more! <br />
<br />
Besides having to go to a Relay for Life meeting, I also worked about an hour on solo and ensemble stuff. It is a good thing I can't stay upset or grumpy when I come home since I have my two girls around to cheer me up. How could you not be happy when you see this scene.<br />

I have been thinking all week long about cutting back on TV. Lesley is great at moderation on all levels. She watches the shows she likes then turns it off. She can have TWO Hershey kisses after dinner and move on. She can go to target and get the things on the list and come home. Basically, she is a disciplined human being. <div><br /></div><div>Then there's me...</div><div><br /></div><div>First off, when I go to target my first stop is to check out the clearance racks in the men's department. While it may not be bad to come home with a $2 t-shirt- who really needs a neon yellow t-shirt with a giant face of Carlton from the 'Fresh Prince of Bel Aire' on it. (I know it is awesome though!).</div><div><br /></div><div>Secondly, when I grab a chocolate after dinner I start with two. Next thing you know I have half a package and even the dogs are staring at me thinking 'savage' as I have molten chocolate oozing out of my pores.</div><div><br /></div><div>Finally, when it comes to T.V. I really have struggled with this. I am a creative person. I love to make music, write music, draw, paint, doodle, craft, build junk, etc. Instead I sit on the couch and burn hours getting dumber and fatter. I don't mind burning an hour every night or maybe two if there is a couple shows- but more times than not we eat and then I park myself in front of the tv or laptop until bedtime. Doing the math I think I can say that this week I have watched...</div><div><br /></div><div>Sunday- 5 hrs.</div><div>Monday- 4hrs.</div><div>Tuesday- 4 hrs.</div><div>Wednesday-4 hrs.</div><div>Thursday- 5 hrs.</div><div>Friday- 6 hrs.</div><div>Saturday- 6 hrs.</div><div><br /></div><div>That is almost 35 hrs!!! If you consider laptop time I bet it could really add up! I hope all of you people are nowhere close to that. </div><div><br /></div><div>Here are the top 5 reasons I am going to change this...</div><div><br /></div><div>1) Em and Lesley. There is no reason for the TV to be on when we have all the entertainment we need with our 'little peanut'. Also I know Lesley is tired of having to pry the remote out of my hands every night!</div><div><br /></div><div>2) To quit wasting time. Usually I am exhausted after work. If I sit down I am done for. Next thing I know it is 12:00 and I have not done anything!!! If anything I can study my scores, play some piano or guitar and burn some creative energy. Usually when I play instruments it leads to a little reading and a cup of hot tea and I am out like a baby...</div><div><br /></div><div>3) To be more creative. I like doing creative things. I have arranged music, done water colors, cut paper into intricate designs, hacked away at a multitude of instruments (including accordion and slide whistle), and the list goes on and on. As you can imagine, realizing it is midnight and shutting off the tv is a whole different feeling than realizing it is midnight and having to stop playing guitar or painting.</div><div><br /></div><div>I am going to (starting 1/24/10) watch less TV and do more things that are productive. My big master plan is to cut down to about 20 hours in a week (which is still a lot... baby steps), eventually cutting down even more. As I do this I will try to start posting some of the extra things I am doing to fill the space... </div><div><br /></div><div>I'm out.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyeM7-H-FJN3X35SW1sf4R_JNAgaOG51EkhGRQ1hcCcW3c6S5Gp7ZcHY3ueZIJ3P4Vms0z4_QR33k64_PxxCj0mn-YWpvTY6CNU5IrFRnAoQCaGsMpHpYpsVMRzxgyw_bAoUCm7I3rgfM/s400/scary+Chad.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5430172174516586002" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 390px; " /></span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-76651289564686739342010-01-22T17:29:00.000-08:002010-01-22T17:51:01.940-08:00addictOh the shame. I never thought there would be an addict in the family. SURE- I bet more than one of you have thought that there must be something wrong with the Woods. All joking aside, I never thought we would have such a major problem or that it would hit so close to home.<div><br /></div><div>You read about all the problems in the world. Between all the natural disasters, financial woes, political mischief, and celebrity gossip it makes any one wonder how this earth keeps spinning.</div><div><br /></div><div>Especially as an educator, I pride myself on being sensitive to changes in behavior. Perhaps a student who is usually an overachiever suddenly refuses to talk. Maybe a kid begins to show to school late, or has a sudden drop in personal hygiene. All these and more are little red flags that go off in my head.</div><div><br /></div><div>Obviously I am talking about <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">podophilia</span>. If you are not familiar with this term it is an un healthy fascination with feet (more or less). To keep things anonymous I will not discuss who the member of our family suffers from this ailment. All I will say is that I do not approve. We appreciate your help in not enabling this family member. While many of you may not think this is a serious disorder let me assure you it is. This unnamed family member has spiraled before our very eyes. </div><div><br /></div><div>I have come home on a number of occasions only to find socks <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">spewn</span> all over the house. Other times, this person will go to sleep dreaming of bunions and wake with a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">pinky</span> toe in hand. I do not know how long this has been going on- originally they kept it a secret. As the disease spiraled out of control this family could not keep it a secret anymore. Just the other day I came home and heard some noise in the back of the house. As I rushed to the back I sprung the door open to find this...<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:100%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px; "><b> </b></span></span></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Ak9WMD9rXLKHVjA9rll8viQ6I9zN-J5feX7yzjzLMKPmlIsNZ4vw-LhNR6hoZMORJZRUjlZPFFRpckHL1YRKrrpkto7blzWRkPe9KlWcXwA_0Fc9VINmr9hQcTn3d4UQGPOnLkac1rU/s1600-h/annon+em.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Ak9WMD9rXLKHVjA9rll8viQ6I9zN-J5feX7yzjzLMKPmlIsNZ4vw-LhNR6hoZMORJZRUjlZPFFRpckHL1YRKrrpkto7blzWRkPe9KlWcXwA_0Fc9VINmr9hQcTn3d4UQGPOnLkac1rU/s400/annon+em.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429741710865643106" /></a>We appreciate your thoughts and support.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnBVY-8SBa3_bYU58vRw9TWFdvBJSTSORyeWW48MYnpkDkfFcJXUOdX9idBouyvj-KWwDkgdYDgDk_XwjsYf3TcOX0Z1KYSxRQiBnp5K9gabXaJj4N799-1ACeieKhSb2SUr6Q3bGOOmw/s1600-h/DSC00102.JPG"><br /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-55792620442403386752010-01-21T19:15:00.000-08:002010-01-21T19:34:22.340-08:00Stroller skateToday Lesley went Stroller skating! If you don;'t know what this is I have a pretty accurate representation below.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuIiP_wgbxsMJ2-sK6Sk-l-U_NO8pgTAbx3yzI9MePZufgdJUCAp6KNdo7mfKPTatOAjSIrnbJr72HdJHUU0X4lh3tL4QAiArUo0mlq1_lFsTEKCC7LmOdTn6koF6Qn-at-YWzZYIhOcQ/s1600-h/strollerskate.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 355px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuIiP_wgbxsMJ2-sK6Sk-l-U_NO8pgTAbx3yzI9MePZufgdJUCAp6KNdo7mfKPTatOAjSIrnbJr72HdJHUU0X4lh3tL4QAiArUo0mlq1_lFsTEKCC7LmOdTn6koF6Qn-at-YWzZYIhOcQ/s400/strollerskate.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429397778668157058" /></a>Now Les really called it 'Stroller <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Sk</span>8' to seem cooler with Em. I heard it was a blast and a pretty good work out. <div><br /></div><div>I haven't been skating in a VERY long time... </div><div>As I posted on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Facebook</span> I am little awkward on skates. For one, I am already pretty awkward just cruising in my size fourteens. Then there is the added height. When I wear skates I hover somewhere in the 6'9-6'10 range. </div><div><br /></div><div>Now imagine you are a little third grader on a play date with that cute boy or girl from recess. You are skating around the rink with the disco ball going with thriller or whatever playing in the background. As you turn the corner you see a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">sasquatch</span> headed towards you... desperately trying to slow down but it is too late. I skid into you both taking out you, your date, and that little butt head showing off skating backwards and weaving in and out of everyone.</div><div><br /></div><div>Maybe one day Emily and I can go skating together. Odds are I will try to keep her on the opposite side of the rink...</div><div><br /></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-11850750582030783342010-01-20T17:37:00.000-08:002010-01-20T17:46:48.455-08:00<div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXc9vOdMZc6uwE_yR8SWN92hydR1BdbG4Dw4VoTOB_M8Ug95bDKZ7dfsONFkaJilD_0CvnYffbNZNtnT7xBH1JEtiMBYsJzvLSKsi5t-JSw_pbiPAcUHaBsAUAxg4RMAZdSw_wuCeN_cQ/s1600-h/clepiano.jpg"></a>We had some Emily photos taken about a month ago. I think all her pictures are pretty neat- but these are great! We had one of Lesley's old co-workers that does photography come out. She does a really great job. Below are a few of the samples that were posted on her blog...<div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEt7sEqQQAUHUqZZCJUvTmMTzxPWeLxDYA48Ex3zmHqPkhBzC8G4krXfkb-tmbkyYvK3QowJPIP6-8xvMhfLRvxNA0GSYQCIKv0UZc524wKJ5f4_s8HWcQMnxBzseiMPeJa8_2CPyEks/s1600-h/emchanging.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 289px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEt7sEqQQAUHUqZZCJUvTmMTzxPWeLxDYA48Ex3zmHqPkhBzC8G4krXfkb-tmbkyYvK3QowJPIP6-8xvMhfLRvxNA0GSYQCIKv0UZc524wKJ5f4_s8HWcQMnxBzseiMPeJa8_2CPyEks/s400/emchanging.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429001756681876978" /></a><br /></div><div>Here we have a lovely baby on her changing pad. This is actually a pretty regular scene in the Wood house- although there is usually a candle next to her as she coos along to her daddy tickling the ivory.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kF4EwQCX793NcKa-qfclLitTg-xUADPIn1_mrE1HzdNH-zPdV7mfH6wym0A8HrDFEo3KT9dvDYbsry4_dNPcaTyrfRcGAGN-hmODyFpW1lX2rFtKLrKTKmxYcxH12c6MPvbwJ3FUJ64/s1600-h/emilysweater.jpg"></a></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXc9vOdMZc6uwE_yR8SWN92hydR1BdbG4Dw4VoTOB_M8Ug95bDKZ7dfsONFkaJilD_0CvnYffbNZNtnT7xBH1JEtiMBYsJzvLSKsi5t-JSw_pbiPAcUHaBsAUAxg4RMAZdSw_wuCeN_cQ/s400/clepiano.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429002340283862338" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 308px; height: 400px; " /></span>I think Emily is actually a little upset in this one- upset that we are stealing some of her spotlight...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kF4EwQCX793NcKa-qfclLitTg-xUADPIn1_mrE1HzdNH-zPdV7mfH6wym0A8HrDFEo3KT9dvDYbsry4_dNPcaTyrfRcGAGN-hmODyFpW1lX2rFtKLrKTKmxYcxH12c6MPvbwJ3FUJ64/s1600-h/emilysweater.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"></a></div><div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kF4EwQCX793NcKa-qfclLitTg-xUADPIn1_mrE1HzdNH-zPdV7mfH6wym0A8HrDFEo3KT9dvDYbsry4_dNPcaTyrfRcGAGN-hmODyFpW1lX2rFtKLrKTKmxYcxH12c6MPvbwJ3FUJ64/s1600-h/emilysweater.jpg" style="text-decoration: none;"><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 289px; height: 400px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_kF4EwQCX793NcKa-qfclLitTg-xUADPIn1_mrE1HzdNH-zPdV7mfH6wym0A8HrDFEo3KT9dvDYbsry4_dNPcaTyrfRcGAGN-hmODyFpW1lX2rFtKLrKTKmxYcxH12c6MPvbwJ3FUJ64/s400/emilysweater.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5429001441838317458" /></a>Finally we have a more serious shot. This photo says 'I am not all fun and games, I have a mysterious side that will take more than just a cheap play date and a bottle of milk to uncover...'<br /><br /></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3709535044919070078.post-85627148184413832282010-01-19T19:09:00.001-08:002010-01-19T19:18:56.953-08:00SOOOOO bigI am a blessed man. <div><br /></div><div>First off- I do not need to hear from random strangers that I married up. I know. I see it in all our family pictures and I get to wake up next to Lesley every morning. All you ladies out there should really hate Les. She looks AWESOME all the time even when she is just opening her eyes in the morning... who needs make up!</div><div><br /></div><div>Secondly, Emily is such a great baby girl. She sleeps through the night, has been healthy, and is generally a very happy little peanut (that is when her old man isn't messin' with her).</div><div><br /></div><div>It is nowhere near Thanksgiving, but I am grateful for the following (the short list);</div><div>1) Family</div><div>2) Our Church</div><div>4) my job</div><div>5) Our friends</div><div>6) My counting ability <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><i>(you thought that was a typo earlier didn't you...)</i></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><i><br /></i></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">So work is hard right now- but it is always good for me to keep my priorities as I get into the hectic time of my year. I am playing the most difficult music with my band. This may not lead us to a 'sweepstakes' award at UIL but it will make all my students better musicians- plus I know they can do it! We are also doing our recruiting drives and a million other things. </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">The best thing about work used to be the kids. Now the best thing about work is providing for my kid... although I still like working with my 210 6th, 7th and 8th graders.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">p.s.- our house was toilet papered over the weekend... good times.</span></div>Chadilachttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06441198102547043638noreply@blogger.com1
